About Long Lake in Cheboygan County
There are several Long Lakes in northern Michigan. The one in Cheboygan County is located about 10 miles from the city limits of Cheboygan. It is secluded and reminds many visitors of a lake you might find in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Long lake is a long and narrow lake of about 400 acres. It has a maximum depth of 60 feet, but most of the lake is an average of 20 feet deep. Most of the lake has a narrow, sandy shore. After that, the lake drops off considerably, and the lake bottom becomes primarily silty. The lake is groundwater fed, and the outflow is the Lower Black River. The Long Lake shoreline has many homes but never seems to be crowded with recreational watercraft. The lake has one launching site. Residents and visitors to the lake enjoy boating, kayaking, swimming, and fishing.

Small sandy access to lake for swimming. Past the sandy area at the shore, the depth of the water increases, and the lake bottom becomes silty.

The area is excellent for all types of summer/winter recreation including biking, hiking, boating, swimming, kayaking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ATV riding. Very near the Black Mountain Recreation Area.
There are several restaurants within about 10 minutes.
Within 20-30 minute drive to Cheboygan for groceries, shopping, restaurants, and recreational activities.
Within an hour's drive to tourist destinations in Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and the Upper Peninsula

- FRIDAY is the changeover day during the summer. Flexible changeover during fall/winter
- Summer Season- $2500 per week rental fee, or $365 per night with a 3-night minimum stay.
- Winter Season- $300 per night with a 3-night minimum stay
- Michigan Use Tax of 6% added to the rental fee
- Cleaning fee- $225
- Refundable Damage Deposit per rental of $500. Returned after your stay is no damage to the property and no extra cleaning is required.
